And then it was Thursday... Snow, Soap and a newbie

I don't know what is going on in other parts of Canada but the weather here is CRAZY! As I mentioned yesterday it was snowing and we also had hurricane strength winds which is very unsual. Today it is beautifully mild. If you have never had the joy of having snow and green grass I thought I would share:

Weird eh?! Especially when you consider all of our stores have had flowers to plant out on the sidewalks for sale since January!!

Yesterday I said I was going to show you what I was cooking up. First up we have a cucumber melon soap with bentonite clay beads. It visually did not turn out the way I had hoped, but the smell and the creaminess more than make up for the little bit of fugly!

Next up was Rice flower and shea. This is a new scent for me and nothing like I imagined. It smells just like a flower garden in the heat of the summer. It is light, feminine and definetly perfect for spring!

I will leave off today with a shout out for a brand new store CraziCandy She has some really unique items such as her skeleton hand hair accessory...check her out!

Till tommorrow my crafty friends!

Please forgive me...

It's been over a year since I have posted anything...how can this be? Ok late New Years resolution, I will blog daily, I promise. Whew I feel better already :) I won't attempt to catch you up on the last year....we will just start anew.

Today I woke up to the lovely news that TheChristmasCorner from Etsy had put my shop up on the sidebar of her blog. How exciting and so very sweet of her!! It's a fantastic blog please check it out.

Yesterday and today have been soapmaking days. It's been snowing here which is an oddity so what better to do than make soap? My first was some Warm Vanilla Sugar yum yum. I love this scent although I wasn't that fond of it at first. here is the final result:

Is it wrong to want to eat it???

My next creation was a kahlua soap. This one turned out MUCH differently than I had turned out. It has coffee , almond and vanilla in it. As it sat the smll changed. It has a spicy layer too it that I can't figure out for the life of me. Where on earth did that come from? It smells uber yummy though!

Tomorrow I will let you all in on todays creations :)

Delayed

Forgive me all, it has been a few days since I have written. Life has a funny way of  getting in the way of the best laid plans. I've had sick children, sick dogs and our first snowfall! I have also celebrated my 3rd week on Etsy and will be celebrating my 1 month on Thursday!! A whole month. Hard to believe. I have managed 5 sales and couldn't be happier :) I have made a few new items but haven't had a chance to take pctures or list them yet. I have great hope for tomorrow. I am so happy that I have finally found a way to let the creative side of me out, and to find a community in which to share it!

It feels doggy today

So after getting a whopping 6 hours of shut eye, I am sooo awake and soooo alert and ready to take on the world! I woke up smiling and was greeted by my two fur babies smiling in their own way. So because they are just so darn cute, todays picks will be dog related!

My babies on halloween night waiting to go out trick or treating!

First up we have KLAZZYKATZ35 a brand new seller on etsy. I came across this Christmas dog dress while pouncing.  It is over the top cute!!

If money is no option then yourhighnesspetbeds is for you. They make beautiful very elaborate pet beds

thistlewoodmanor is not a dog related store but they do have a gorgeous pet quilt. And for $20 I say this is a
                                                                              steal!

Last but not least we have RescuePaws who makes fantatsic collars, leashes and sets. Best of all a part of the proceeds goes to animal rescue!

Yes this list is perhaps not what you were expecting! I refuse to do lists based on wether each item colour coordinates with the next. I pick what interests me :)

Till later

So very late!

Ever have one of those draggy, when is it bedtime kind of days? That would be my day today. Yet here it is 10:30 pm , everyone is asleep but me...again.

I spent most of the night reading tips on selling on etsy. I can't really do much more than I am unfortunately. I have purchased advertising, I promote in the forums as much as I can, made my facebook fan page, renamed my twitter account to reflect my store and started this blog!

Perhaps I am just too anxious. It may come from someone saying today that although my hairsticks were beautiful they weren't something many people would use.

My next goal is to approach some of the boutiques here. I went on a little hunt the other day and found them full of handmade jewellery but not a hairstick in sight! My only problem is not having any knowledge in this area. Is it normally comission or consignment or both? Add to that my fear of being "ripped off" I have know idea what is reasonable!! I think tomorrow will be filled with google searches.

Signing off till tomorrow...and some fantastic etsy picks!

A lil of this and that

So I said I was going to put some of my faves from other etsians in so why not on my second entry?

I feel I need to thank those who have gone out of their way to help me so we will start there.

First up we have EmeliaJane She was so gracious as to feature me in her blog! She is a fantastic photographer and I encourage you to check out her store! This photo entitled music of the forest just haunts me!

Next WithinWire put me into a treasury...what a wonderful surprise! She specializes in making jewelry from beach glass, shells, and wire. All beach glass and shells have been hand picked from local beaches in Hawaii!
This fine silver bracelet with green fluorite bed is just stunning!

And lastly we have IrinaPhotography another who was so gracious as to put one of my items in a treasury :) In addition to being a fantastic photographer she also makes jewellery!. My pick from her store a photo of the Pacific Coast. I want to be THERE...right there!!

So that was my thank you pics :) Tomorrow just random favorites...make sure y'all come back now ya hear?!
